The purpose of the Blue Valley Recreation Commission Strategic Plan is to guide the BVRC for the next 10 years and provide strategic direction and vision to meet current and emerging public recreational needs.

Project Goals:

• Maximize community engagement in an inclusive and innovative manner to ensure the broad interests of the diverse community and stakeholders in the BVRC are heard and can help guide growth and development of recreation properties and facilities.
• Utilize a wide variety of data sources and best practices including a statistically valid survey to predict trends and patterns of use and how to address unmet needs in the BVRC.
• Determine unique Level of Service Standards to develop appropriate actions regarding recreation programs and facilities that reflects the BVRC’s strong commitment to encourage active lifestyles, promote health and safety, and ultimately connect the community.
• Shape financial sustainability through “next” practices for BVRC to achieve the strategic objectives, identify revenue opportunities, dynamic partnerships, and ensure future operational and maintenance needs are addressed.
• Develop a dynamic and realistic strategic action plan that creates a 10-year road map to ensure long-term success and financial sustainability for the BVRC’s recreation programs and facilities, as well as action steps to support the family-oriented community and businesses that utilize the BVRC services.
