The purpose of the City of Pocatello's PROST Plan is to establish an overall vision and provide strategic direction so that the community's recreational amenities meet the public's current and emerging needs.

Project Goals:

• Achieve the goals and strategies identified in Pocatello’s Comprehensive Plan.
• Provide an inventory and assessment on current recreational amenities and programs.
• Establish a parks classification system in order to provide a streamlined approach to meet the recreational needs of the community.
• Analyze current and needed recreational opportunities.
• Establish a parks design manual to provide a set of standards for each park type.
• Establish an open space and trails plan to outline strategies for their protection and improvement.
• Establish a capital improvement plan to ensure that the community’s recreational amenities are maintained and/or updated.
• Establish an operational plan and recommend funding and revenue strategies to ensure expected operational needs are being met.
• Outline measurable action steps that can be taken to implement the Plan.
