Martinsville Parks and Recreation is updating their 5-year parks and recreation Master Plan. The intent of the plan is to align new investments in parks, facilities, and programming with a strong community-driven mission and vision. The Master Plan is a guiding document for the City to enhance the quality of life for all residents through parks, recreation services, and facilities.

Project Goals:

• Land acquisition, park development, trail acquisition and development
• Program development
• Capital improvement priorities
• Partnerships with other providers
• Maintenance standards for various types of parks and amenities
• Staffing and organizational best practices
• Financing options for pursuing grants and utilizing impact fees for park and trail development
• Establishing a connection between parks and economic development
